Please do not go to Kevin's Automotive. They destroyed my vehicle. All they had to do was install a new engine. After I was taken for a new one, I decided to take my vehicle to another mechanic. The other mechanic told me that whoever did the service at Kevin's Automotive has no idea what they are doing. I had to pay an additional $1000 to fix the problems that Kevin's Automotive did to my vehicle. Kevin is way over his head. He lost my keys several times, and he kept on telling me I did not give him my keys. I am glad I did not give him the original key. I just kept on making a new set for him every time. If you go into the store, you will see several sets of keys on the front desk with no one protecting your keys. Anyone with a criminal mind can walk into the store and take every one of the set of keys that are on the front desk. There is NO SECURITY for your keys. Do not go to Kevin's Automotive!!!

This review was written by an individual who is not David Gilliland. His real name is Cody Martinez. This young man had our company replace an engine in his 1989 Ford f150 truck in April this year. He approached us based on our good reviews to replace his engine. His engine was over heating from a leaking head-gasket and he bought the vehicle knowingly that it had this problem. We also replaced his suspension and installed a lift kit and a new clutch and flywheel. Cody decided to spend $4000.00 to fix his truck. We did all the work although there were some rusted bolts causing problems, broken intake manifold prior to the repair and vendor delays for parts on his vehicle that slowed progress. After him picking up the vehicle he started to have issues on his truck mostly related to his careless driving habit which I personally experienced with him on a road test with him. I personally was concerned for my safety as he would drive into traffic and causing near accidents. We tried to work out some of his clutch problems which were partially caused by the age of old parts on the truck and him not telling us till after the fact. He was aware of these issues but wanted to blame our company for all of his problems. He was a very difficult customer during the whole process. Cody requested a full refund on the repairs. There was no defect in his engine we replaced to justify a refund. Because we would not give him a refund he opened a BBB complaint. When we received the complaint he made false statements about our company. He also made false statements of having to take his truck to a Ford dealer multiple times for repairs. We requested him to show documented proof of repairs made multiple times so we can resolve the matter and he never did. This file was closed due to him not responding back. So now he wants to write a review hiding behind a picture of his dog and using a fake name. Why does Cody really want a refund? To get free repairs? Maybe spending money on his truck and he has remorse. So now he feels he has to post a review giving a “1” star. This review Cody means nothing to me. It shows you need to grow up. I have never had to write a response like this. If you are a consumer and you are looking for an honest repair shop for your vehicle do not believe anything that was written by “David Gilliland”. This is not the first time a personal online attack has been made and it will not be the last. Next month we will have been in business 6 years. We have been getting awesome reviews on Google and Yelp for years and I plan to keep it that way. Any issues with repairs or service I take personal and work hard to resolve the issues.

First and foremost Kevin two thumbs up you are great... after being to five different shots being told ridiculous wait times and having a nasty headache from horrible customer service I told Miss Mary my 2000 Chevy Silverado into Kevin's yard there are fixed and running like a beauty in no time for a reasonable Perfect Price I definitely recommend Kevin's shop I personally live in California so I will not be able to take advantage of such a great customer service and excellent mechanic service as much as those who lived in Colorado but check them out great place

Thank you for your positive review!

I have used Kevin's Automotive twice now and waited for the second experience before writing a review. Both times the work was done as promised at a very reasonable price. Kevin is a pleasure to deal with. I will be using them again and highly recommend their shop.

Thank you for you for your positive review!

Kevin is the most honest and nicest mechanic I have met in town. Quality service and honest prices. I would not take my car to anyone else. I am the daughter and sister of mechanics in another state so I know what to expect and he consistantly delivers. Wonderful service!

Thank you for you for your positive review!

Will be coming back here, got my radiator replaced and my back brakes done, kevins shop was swamped but he was done by noon the next day! Very well spoken guy, strikes me as someone with the intelligence to be a doc, really seems to care about his customers. There were a couple hiccups after the fact because of complications with my car overheating initially, but Kevin overnighted the part and amazingly it was done in 24 hours yet again. I Highly recommend this place. Fair pricing. take it from a car guy, kevin is the bee's knees!

Thank you for you for your positive review!

BEWARE things are not as they seem at Kevin's Automotive. Take your car for a second opinion

Terrible! Do not take your car to this shop! Kevin told me that my cat would take ONE day to complete a 150K mile tune up and one repair. He didn't even touch my car on day one... But never bothered to call me and let me know that he wouldn't/couldn't get it done that day. Instead, I got there at the end of the day and he informed me that the part he needed would be there in the morning & that I should leave it over night so that he could get to it first thing. End of day on day TWO rolls around, and I STILL haven't heard from Kevin. So my fiancé called him to get an update, he then tells us that the part he had delivered was damaged and that a new one would come the following morning. Day THREE is now here, and we called Kevin to confirm that the car was in fact finished and arranged a time that all parties agreed upon to come get the vehicle. But guess what... I arrive at the shop AT the agreed upon time, and Kevin is nowhere to be found. Oh... And his employees are "not allowed" to release vehicles without Kevin being present! I expressed my frustration about this to which the gentleman told me "I don't care." And that I should call Kevin before I come back later (you mean like I called Kevin before coming THIS time!?). When I said that I had to go back to work and couldn't get back again before they closed, he said "no big deal, just come back tomorrow." What!?!? No big deal!? It is a big deal to make someone go without their car for FOUR days when the initial quote was for ONE day! Not ok! Worst! And I do mean WORST experience with a mechanic shop ever!! Beware folks!

I believe when I read reviews that I should keep an open mind when the review is not so good like most consumers. Some reviews are done out of just a bad experience. Some are made out of retaliation because they did not get their way or other problems. I felt the need to clearly fill some of the missing information Erica forgot to add. First, Erica wrote this review before getting her vehicle back. Yes, we did take three days on her vehicle. Yes a part for her car ordered in was found possibly defective and it took an additional day to replace it. Unfortunately in our industry new parts get damaged or can be defective either from the manufactuer or during the shipping of the part which was the later. Erica's car needed an oil pan for her engine. None of Honda dealers stock this part which took time. I did contact Erica the second day. I left her a voice mail when she did not answer her phone. Her fiancé was informed also. I would rather keep a car an extra day versus taking a chance on getting a come back repair. Second, when she came down the first time to pick up her car she became irate when one of my mechanics who tried to help her. She was told the owner would be back at 3pm due to a business matter being resolved. He appologized but it was not acceptable to her. Thirdly, her better half instructed me in the begining that he wanted only specific repairs done. I have to assume she did not know about this. Because when I went over her invoice with her she became very irate that we did not do ALL the repairs she requested. I had another customer in my lobby who witnessed all of this he and she did not like the fact that a customer defended my company's name. She left after having to be told to leave.
